Tai Chi Classes
As well as a martial art Tai Chi is a system of movement and postures that is held to improve blood pressure and circulation, digestion, improving the functions of internal organs and balancing the flow of energy through the meridians of the body.  It is also believed to improve cardiovascular fitness.  All of which helps to explain why every morning you can find people practicing Tai Chi in the streets and parks all over China.

Many actions in Tai Chi are based on circular (oval) movements, being designed to absorb energy and then used to the practitioner’s advantage. The slow smooth movements and subtle shifting of weight develops flexibility and extremely good balance, making it ideal for all ages young and old.

Recent medical studies reveal that activities such as Tai Chi improve strength, balance, flexibility and coordination and reduce the risk of injury through falls among both healthy and frail people by up to 60%.
